Opening Times Admission Prices

Dr Johnson's House is open to the public throughout the year, from Monday to Saturday.

The opening hours are:
11am - 5.30pm (May to September incl.)
11am - 5pm (October to April incl.)

The House is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

By Bus
All routes to Aldwych, Chancery Lane, Fleet Street or St. Paul's.
Bus numbers 4, 11, 15, 23, 26, 76 and 172 run along Fleet Street.

Please note that Blackfriars Underground will be closed from March 2009 until late 2011.

Group Visits Private Views

Guided tours are available to pre-booked groups at no extra charge (groups should be a minimum of 10 people and a maximum of 25 people). Groups rates are £3.50 per person.

Evening guided tours for groups are available, when the House is closed to the public.

Charges are from £10 per person, with optional wine and/or light buffet provided. Prices on application.

Wheelchair Access Shop
It is regretted that owing to the age of the House, there are many unavoidable steps. The House stocks a selection of books, booklets, posters and souvenirs.
